About the event
This April 26, join synagogues and organizations from across the city at Stephen Wise Free Synagogue for “Rise Up: The Heroes Independence Concert,” an uplifting audio-visual experience celebrating Yom Ha’atzmaut while telling stories of heroism from Israel’s past and present.
Featuring acclaimed Israeli musician Gilad Segev, his talented band, and New York’s cantors and musicians, the Heroes concert bridges commemoration with a celebration of independence. Rooted in the trauma of October 7th, the program will take us on an authentic musical journey that honors the fallen and salutes the triumphant, uniting the Jewish people through heartache and hope.
This concert is made possible thanks to Stephen Wise Free Synagogue’s Israel Committee and the Schwartz Israel Fund, UJA-Federation of New York,, the 92nd Street Y, the Israeli-American Council, Jewish Agency for Israel’s Upper West Side Shlicha, the Marlene Mayerson JCC Manhattan, Romemu, Temple Emanu-El, and Temple Israel of the City of New York.
