About the event
Ever since the start of the war, the Israel Story team has been crisscrossing the country and collecting testimonies because they believe it is crucial that people around the world know what is going on. The result is "Wartime Diaries"—a series of raw audio "postcards" that highlight the plethora of voices the producers of the show are hearing among and around them. These voices include families of hostages, victims and survivors of the carnage, leaders, members of typically sidelined populations like Bedouin and Druze citizens of Israel, foreign workers, poets, rockstars, farmers, and many more. At a time when news outlets and social media feeds are saturated with ungodly images and incomprehensible statistics, Israel Story has diligently tried to capture day-to-day reality, or slivers of life, during the war.
But in a dynamic and quickly shifting reality, knowing which stories to tell the world isn't always obvious. In this informal conversation, Mishy Harman and Yochai Maital, the creators of the critically acclaimed podcast, invite you to venture behind the scenes of "Wartime Diaries" as they reflect upon the challenges, dilemmas, and decisions they made throughout the production.
